What is a Carer?

A carer is someone who looks after a family member, friend or neighbour who needs help due to illness, frailty or disability. Both children and adults can be carers, and the care they provide is unpaid.

Who are the Carers' Information Service?

The Carers' Information Service are a Croydon-based charity, funded by the Whitgift Foundation. As our name suggests, our main aim is to ensure that the carers of Croydon, and the professionals who work with them, are as well-informed as possible about the rights and services that carers are entitled to.

Rethink Croydon Counselling Service

Counselling, short-breaks and transport breaks to carers of children or adults. Although this project is run by Rethink these services are available to all carers.

Young Carers Support Project
Support and activities for young people aged 7 to 18 who are providing care for a parent or sibling.

Rethink Carers Support Project

Information, advice, support groups, training and advocacy for friends and families of an adult aged 18-65 with a severe mental illness.
